Market Snapshot - September 2016 >

2016 is shaping up to be a significant year in British history.  As a country we joined together to celebrate The Queen's 90th Birthday and our most successful Olympics in over 100 years; we then went on to vote to leave the EU.

 

There was understandably a level of concern about what impact Britain exiting the EU would have on the secretarial/administrative jobs market. Tiger Recruitment has seen an increase of 25% in new temp bookings in the first 6 months of 2016 compared to the corresponding months in 2015, despite Britain leaving the EU.  We have seen a high quantity of new permanent and temporary jobs come through over the past few months, resulting in a record breaking month of August. Team Tiger >

The City office have continued to take on many new Clients in 2016 and in turn have expanded to ensure we continue to offer a high level of service to our Candidates. 

 

Welcome to Natasha Coomber and Sarah Ridley who have joined us as Consultants. With the development of the team and the addition of a strong admin/compliance team, the City office have gone from strength to strength.

 

The team in the West End office have successfully expanded across the board. Camilla Sheldon has returned to Tiger as a Consultant on the permanent team and Amy Laiker has joined as the newest Consultant on the temporary team, with the office as a whole set to grow further in 2016.

Online Timesheets

On 6th June, our Online Timesheets System went live, allowing our temps to digitally submit their timesheets. The need for a modernised timesheet system came about as a result of Tiger’s temporary division experiencing substantial growth over the past couple of years. 

 
 

The new system comes with greater benefits over that of a traditional manual timesheet system:

 

1. Track timesheet in real time: temps are able to see the status of everything from outstanding timesheets that need to be completed through to timesheets that have been fully processed and are awaiting payment.

2. Submitted hours are entered directly onto our payroll system: this has minimised the risk of double handling data entry errors.
3. Timesheets are available to be completed throughout the week: temps in ongoing placements can enter their hours on any computer with internet access.

 

We have received great feedback on the system from both our Candidates and Clients so far. We will always continue to look at ways to offer our Candidates the most efficient and effective service possible so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to email me directly.

 

Candidate Availability App

At the start of the year we enhanced our App to make it more user friendly for Android and Apple devices. This September we are launching the new 'Candidate Availability' feature within the Tiger App. This is something new to the market and will help further aid our Candidates in their job search.

The App will allow Candidates to create and log in to their profile and easily update their current and future availability on a daily basis. This will then alert our Consultants to make them aware who is available, especially useful for those last minute bookings. Keep an eye on your emails and our social networking sites for more information on the official launch and how to use the feature to your best advantage. 

 

Chef's Tables

The beginning of June saw the first of our exclusive Candidate dining experiences. 'Tiger's Indian Summer Night', in partnership with Benares Restaurant, took place on 1st June with a select group of London based EA's. Candidates were given the chance to sample the delights of Benares, a Michelin star Indian restaurant, as well as network with other EA's and the directors of Tiger Recruitment. 

 

Our next exciting event will see us joining forces with DUKES LONDON, a sophisticated, luxury hotel nestled in the heart of St. James. Join us on Thursday 22nd September for champagne and canapés with an exclusive tour of the venue including the legendary DUKES bar, THIRTY SIX restaurant and private dining spaces. There will be more opportunities for Candidates to be a part of these exclusive experiences throughout the rest of 2016 – so watch this space!

Tiger Recruitment has always had a significant presence on Facebook and Twitter and the beginning of 2016 was the perfect opportunity to continue this onto other platforms, with a relaunch of our Instagram and revamp of our LinkedIn profiles.

 
 

Instagram

The end of March saw the relaunch of our Tiger Instagram account. The aim of 2016 was to increase our activity by posting more regularly to keep Candidates and Clients informed on events, competitions, blogs and anything Tiger related.

 

Our first competition ran in May which saw one lucky winner receive two tickets to The Chelsea Flower Show. Our most recent Summer competition, 'The Perfect Picnic', saw another winner take home a Fortnum and Mason picnic hamper! To be in with a chance to win more prizes like these, follow us and look out for our next upcoming competition.

As the company has continued to grow, so has our presence on LinkedIn. Our Consultants use LinkedIn as a platform to advertise new jobs they are working on, and it is therefore a brilliant opportunity for you to be one of the first to see new jobs when they come in. Tiger Charity Fundraising >

We have kick-started our 2016 year of fundraising for The Rob George Foundation and The Headcase Cancer Trust.Using different platforms from organising events to competitions through the website and Instagram, the first half of the year has proven to be a successful start to our year of fundraising activities.   

 

Easter Egg Hunt 

In March we ran the 2016 Easter Egg Hunt and hid five Tiger Easter eggs in various locations around the website. Participants had to follow each clue leading to the next egg, eventually ending up at the golden egg! The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners received Selfridges vouchers, lunch for two in Franco's London restaurant and a bottle of Fortnum and Mason champagne. For each entry we received, Tiger donated £1 to our charities totalling a donation of £175 to each.

 

Tiger Summer Olympics

To celebrate the beginning of the 2016 Rio Olympics, we hosted our very own Tiger Olympics in Hyde Park. The event was a huge success with over 50 competitors. With multiple events such as egg and spoon race, team relay and sack race, the evening was an excellent opportunity to get together, network and raise a total of £250 for each of our charities. 

 

'The Perfect Picnic' 

Our latest Instagram competition running over the Summer months recently closed on 31st August. As mentioned earlier, the prize for 'The Perfect Picnic' photo competition was a Fortnum and Mason hamper. For each applicant we received, Tiger donated £1 to our chosen charities totalling £150.

 

 

We hope you can join us again soon to continue to raise money for The Rob George Foundation and The Headcase Cancer Trust. We will be running a number of fund raising activities throughout the rest of 2016, so look out for events that you will be able to participate in. On 1st October 2016, Tiger Recruitment will be celebrating its 15th birthday. Please keep an eye on our website for further details. It will certainly be an occasion to remember!
