Smarter Stripes!

We are excited to report that Tiger is currently undergoing a major facelift. Our brand was devised over 5 years ago at the same time that our current website was built. Whilst both have worked and continue to work effectively, we have felt for some time that the website and the way our adverts and brand appear online and in printed form can be improved and made more current.

We instructed a marketing firm 4 months ago to build us a brand new website and rebrand Tiger whilst retaining our logo. Our key message of “exceptional candidates for exceptional clients” is still the mainstay of Tiger. However, the brand has grown to be far more than that and we hope that our “new look” will give further clarity to what we stand for in the market place – i.e. efficient, professional, honest and tailored recruitment. The new brand will appear on all marketing material, online and print adverts and much more.

The website will be extremely dynamic and interactive. Candidates will find it much easier to apply for jobs, keep updated with the latest news and vacancies and even be able to register their details online.

We will be launching in September, so watch this space and we welcome your feedback. We will also be hosting an event to thank you for your support. The invitation will be sent out through our social networking pages later in the year so make sure you “like” us to receive it!! It will be a party you don’t want to miss!

What Your Shoes Can Say About You

There are plenty of articles and top-tips telling you how to ‘dress to impress’ for an interview – clean suit, not too short skirts, matching jackets, no ripped jeans, no see-through tops and so on.  But what about something dedicated to what you wear on your feet?

You may not think that an interviewer will spend a huge amount of time eyeing up your sparkly new sandals or live-in Converse, but a recent study showed that a person’s personality can be largely determined by the shoes that they’re wearing.  The colour, style, cost and condition are all tell-tale signs of what the person wearing them is really like, so here are some tips on how to, and how not to dress your feet when going for an interview.

Heels always look smart and sophisticated, but they’re not everyone’s cup of tea.  If you’re going to be shown round the office of the company you’re interviewing for, you won’t make a good impression by tottering around in 8inch heels, towering over everyone you meet.  A heeled loafer, either a block or kitten heel, looks super chic and smart with a skirt or trousers, and they’re comfortable too.

If you’re not the heel type, opt for an elegant pair of pumps or brogues.  Be careful with the colour though, patent red of neon green shoes will be a massive distraction.  Be safe with neutrals – black, brown, beige, tan – all easy to match to your outfit as well.  You can wear your hot pink heels when you’ve got to know your colleagues a bit better!

If you have a pretty pair of feet, flaunt them, if not, don’t!  A nicely pedicured pair can get away with wearing practical summery sandals or open-toed shoes, but no one wants to see chipped nail polish or cracked heels, so keep them covered!

Don’t go too bulky.  Army boots, big buckles and studs can look a bit aggressive and may be slightly intimidating.  They must go with the outfit.  A well-dressed pair of suede knee-high boots with tights and a pencil skirt are perfect for the winter.

Here’s one for the boys – match your shoes and socks!  Well, not exactly, but if you’re wearing black shoes wear black socks, not white or green or ones, and definitely not a pair with Father Christmas all over them!

If it’s raining, travel to the interview in comfy trainers or scruffy shoes, with a good smart pair in your bag to change into.  Be sure to put on your proper shoes before you go into the office, you don’t want your potential future employer to see you hopping around on one leg trying to make the swap.

So there we are, how to step into an interview in impressive style.

Born Free

Every year Tiger Recruitment fundraises for a specific charity or foundation.

Tiger has been inspired in 2013 to fundraise for Born Free, and specifically to fundraise for Tiger Conservation.

In addition, Tiger Recruitment has decided to adopt a rescued Tiger, Roque, who now resides in a sanctuary in India.

Roque was rescued by Born Free in 1998. By adopting Roque, funds will go towards his lifetime care and medical expenses.

The Tiger team will be organising events throughout the year, both in-house as well as events that hopefully both our Clients and Candidates will be able to participate in.

Please keep your eyes and ears open for further information about this.
