What kinds of events jobs are available in London

Tiger Recruitment are often approached with events jobs in London. Events jobs can range from Event Administrators to Event Managers or even an Events Director.

When working in events you will be required to plan, develop, organise and most importantly oversee the final product on the day and ensure the events initial aims and objectives are met successfully. Events jobs are extremely rewarding as you watch the event grow from an idea into a masterpiece.

An events job in London can be extremely beneficial, the opportunities are endless. Often large corporate companies based in London will require staff for their in house events team. It is likely that you will be required to work on large scale events.

Events jobs generally are office based during the planning stages, and you will normally only work regular working hours, however, when it comes to the final stages of the event you may be required to work slightly longer hours, and on the day of the event unsocial hours.

The different types of events jobs

A job in events can lead you to thousands of different industries, you could find yourself working for a charity, a hotel, an exhibition company, an in house events team within a company or an events agency, to name a few. There are no limits to the industry you may be working in, and there are hundreds of different types of events that you could be organising, such as; seminars, conferences, award ceremonies, exhibitions, parties, fundraisers, and festivals.

You will be required to work in a team in an events job, you will work very closely together and will often be required to cross over roles to help out where necessary. The more preparation an events team can do prior to the event, the less work and stress there will be on the day.

In the fast moving, high pressure events industry, you will be required to be resourceful, both in the planning stages and on the day of the event. No matter your place on the hierarchy, you will need to pick up any task in order to support your team and enable the smooth running of the overall event.

You need to decide whether you would like to work as part of an in-house events team or whether you would prefer to work for an events agency.

Although both types of events jobs will require you to organise an event, they are very different from each other. An events agency will often work with a large number of clients at the same time. You will be required to work quickly and ensure that the clients’ needs are met. Of course, agency work is extremely high pressure, and will require you to do a lot of research on the industry in which the client is based. You will also need to have regular updates with the client. Communication is of great importance in an events agency. An in-house events team will be organising events for both the company and external clients, so budgets, creativity and teamwork are the watchwords here. Both roles can be extremely exciting and fast paced. At the end of the day in-house and agency work suit different people.

At Tiger we often recruit for events roles, ranging from junior level to high end roles. If you feel you have the relevant skills for a career in events, please send us your CV to response@tiger-recruitment.co.uk.
