Fabulous couples role supporting a very busy private family in north London. Based in a beautiful semi- rural setting in Totteridge, the position comes with its own spacious separate accommodation. A car(s) can be provided if necessary.
This is a couples role which is very varied, and requires a lot of flexibility day to day. The main responsibilities will be care of the home in Totteridge, but there will also be regular visits/errand running between this location and the clients second property in Hampstead.
The family usually spend Mon – Fri in Hampstead, and the weekends in Totteridge, with the working week is spent “resetting” the house, looking after the animals and running various errands for the family if needed. The end of the week is spent getting the house ready for the family’s arrival on a Friday.
Duties comprise of, but are not limited to:
Cleaning, ironing, laundry, arranging dry cleaning, changing of bed linen, some childcare, dinner party assistance, food shopping and on line ordering, overseeing of suppliers and contractors at the residence (with the Facilities Manager), liaising with Family Office regarding children’s extra-curricular calendar, looking after/organising vaccinations for the pets/organising kennels and cattery, taking telephone calls/messages.
Light maintenance, both indoor and outdoor, assisting the housekeeper where required, dog walking, driving, collecting children, running errands, house sitting, car valeting, care of Quad bikes and bicycles, pool maintenance, occasional heavy lifting, dinner party assistance.
There is a full time chef employed, so minimal cooking will be required, however the couple must be happy and able to prepare simple meals if required. Full time gardeners are also employed to manage the grounds, though there will be some overlap with duties. There is also a part time cleaner employed 3 days a week to assist with the upkeep of the house.
Full training will be given, and candidates will be assisted by the Facilities Manager.
Flexibility and discretion are absolutely key and candidates must have a strong “can do” attitude, a willingness to muck in and have experience of working in a similar role for a private family with other household staff.
It is essential that at least one candidate can drive, but preferably both. Technological knowledge/understanding is helpful, with candidates being able to understand the workings of the property/AV systems/intercoms etc when shown them.
Working hours will usually be Monday to Friday, 0730 –1930, although additional hours may be required under special circumstances.
