Hiring A PR Assistant

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A PR ASSISTANT?

An effective PR Assistant is instrumental in supporting the PR Manager and wider PR team with a whole host of tasks and responsibilities. In addition to their fundamental PR tasks they’ll often assist with writing blogs, managing social media communications, and helping with events coordination.

A PR Assistant will monitor industry news and competitor brands, likely conduct market research as well as create and evaluate press coverage for the business. A creative thinker, they will constantly be looking for new ways and ideas to promote the business. Of course a regular component of their role will be writing, proofreading and uploading of content so they’ll equally need to be technically proficient and comfortable using a CMS.

RECRUITING A PR ASSISTANT

The recruitment process begins with a face-to-face briefing with you, where we’ll ascertain the detailed role requirements, desired competencies and cultural fit. From there, we’ll run an advertising campaign as well as speak to pre-screened candidates on our database. Our rigorous recruitment methodology will start with a phone screen, a face-to-face interview and a technical skill assessment.

We’re looking for unparalleled written and verbal communication skills in PR Assistant candidates. As such, we’ll develop tailored behavioural and situational questions specifically designed to draw out those competencies. We’ll also look to delve deeper at reference checking stage.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM OUR PR ASSISTANT CANDIDATES?
