My work experience week at Tiger

I have been lucky enough to spend the past week at Tiger Recruitment for work experience. When I arrived at the office on Monday morning, I was greeted by one of the Consultants from the Permanent Team. Alice was so lovely, extremely welcoming and she took me into the office to meet the team. The team is a bubbly group of girls who throughout the week couldn’t have been more helpful and gave me lots of good advice. The office has a really nice vibe and there was a buzz with the girls all working hard as a team as well as individually.

Throughout my week at Tiger, I have been kept extremely busy. My role included meeting and greeting the Candidates upon arrival at reception. This was a very important role as I was the face of the company. I found that being given this role was especially beneficial for me as it has helped me grow in confidence and gave me experience of talking to many different people of all ages. It was also my job to send skills tests via email to Candidates once they had come in for a registration meeting and then record their results in the Candidate's file on the database. I also arranged registration meetings between Consultants and Candidates, which involved diary management through the Consultants' online diary to see what times they were available on the relevant day and then book it into their diary. I updated the database on a regular basis, which involved adding everything to the Candidate's files, I was also given the opportunity to add new Candidates to the database.

Being in the office and listening to all the Consultants doing their job was extremely impressive. What appealed to me the most was hearing all the amazing jobs they had to offer their Candidates and then seeing the majority of Candidates actually being offered that job later down the line. I hope that one day soon, one of the Consultants at Tiger will be telephoning me and informing me that I have been successful.

The highlight of my week was when Alice invited me to sit in on a number of Candidate registration meetings, which I was extremely grateful for as it enabled me to learn about the different roles that were on offer, some of which I didn't realise existed. This gave me a solid understanding of how to approach meetings in the future from both the Consultant and the Candidates' point of view.

Tiger has given me an insight into the reality of working in a business and what it is like to be in London. The week enabled me to put my skills that I have learnt at OMBS to use as well as learning a wide range of new skills which are invaluable in the work place. Spending the week at Tiger has definitely been worthwhile as I know all of the skills will help me with further roles that I take on in the future. Being given the opportunity to work at Tiger this week has been fantastic and I cannot thank the girls enough for giving me such an amazing opportunity and knowing I have their support during my job search.
