My Two Week Work Experience at Tiger Recruitment

Tiger Recruitment recently welcomed a work experience candidate to the team for two weeks. Read on for a shapshot of life at Tiger:

"For the last two weeks I have been temping at Tiger Recruitment. Here’s a brief insight into my time at the company…

When I first arrived at Tiger I was greeted by one of the permanent consultants Alice, who was my line manager for the time whilst I was here. Alice is lovely, she is extremely organised and knows exactly what needs to be done and when. If I ever needed anything she was there to help me. Alice took me into the office to meet everyone. The Tiger girls are such a welcoming group of people that I fitted right in with. After being shown my desk and all of the facilities, Alice took me through how everything was run, from showing me the candidates interested in current roles and how to uploading a job advert to the website. As I was shadowing Alice for some time over the first few days I quickly picked up how everything worked. Sitting in on candidate registration meetings gave me an excellent understanding of how to approach meetings in the future as the candidate. I learnt about some of the firms that candidates had previously worked for which I found extremely interesting, for example, I got the inside scope on what it was like working for one of the world’s biggest brands and all of the amazing benefits.

One of my main roles at Tiger was to meet and greet the candidates upstairs in reception. This included giving the candidates forms to fill out and collecting passports from them. This was a great experience and definitely developed my confidence and experience in talking to many different people of all ages. This was one of the things that I enjoyed most about my work experience.

Another one of my duties whilst at Tiger was to keep the database updated. This was assigned to me by Grace, who is the Office Manager. She couldn’t have been more helpful. Whenever I needed something shown to me again or help with anything, she would be there. Managing the database included adding everything to the candidate’s files, from their photos, passport scans, documents, Microsoft Office test results and I even had the opportunity to create whole new candidates to the system.

I experienced a lot and learnt a variety of new skills during my time at Tiger and developed a clear insight of what is involved in working for a recruitment company. The company has a really nice office vibe, full of friendly characters who couldn’t have been nicer to work with. The work I was doing is definitely something that I am going to remember and take on to further roles that I undertake in the future. I would absolutely recommend Tiger as a recruitment company to candidates and clients, and to anyone looking to do work experience."
